Discover Scuba Diving - $170
-
1-day course
Let Sea Saba take you on your first dive!
What was once called a Resort Course is now known as Discover Scuba Diving. Sea Saba conducts many Discover Scuba Diving courses throughout the year with great success. One key to our success is the amount of time we spend with our guests. We first conduct a full lecture session that explains the equipment, basic physics, and physiology. The fun then begins with your instructor spending time with you in a confined water location, where you will become comfortable with the equipment and be taught a few skills to prepare you for your dive in the ocean. Your dive is done in the Saba Marine Park aboard one of our boats. Your instructor will give you a briefing before you begin your shallow, accompanied dive. Although Saba is famous for our deeper pinnacle dives, our shallower dives are also world class. You may see a turtle, eel, stingray, octopus, or even a passing reef shark among the colorful reefs you encounter. There is no official license issued for this course but you are allowed to continue diving shallow dives (40', 12m) under instructor supervision for up to 14 days. This course can also be rolled into an Open Water Scuba Diver course if you end up loving it (like we do).
PADI Scuba Diver - $450
-
1-2 day course - 2 Dives
The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification, if that's your ultimate goal.
Please keep in mind that this certification has a maximum depth limitation of 40ft (12m) and must dive with a private dive guide.
PADI Open Water Diver - $799
-
3-day course - 4 Dives
PADI Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. A highly-trained PADI Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment. We split the course over 3 days to ensure you have plenty of training time to gain comfort and confidence.
By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
eLearning allows for training on your schedule.
Electronic learning (eLearning) is the delivery of education, using your mobile device or web browser. PADI eLearning allows you to begin your dive education at your convenience, using your desktop, laptop or mobile device, and finish your training in the water with Sea Saba. With PADI eLearning, you complete the knowledge development (academic) portion at your own pace – studying anytime and anywhere you have a high-speed internet connection or after you have downloaded the product. If you have a busy schedule or just prefer the convenience of learning from your mobile device or computer, eLearning is a great choice.

Do your Open Water Dives with us!
And yet another option, the referral works beautifully if you want to begin a course at your local dive shop. Establishing a relationship with a dive shop in your local area is always a good idea--even if you only intend to 'dive in paradise'. Buying dive equipment from a local dealer will give you an outlet for future service. Many local dive shops are also sources for group or individual travel, offer social activities and offer advanced training to keep you active when you can't be in paradise. If you prefer to do your first dives in the tropics, just let your local dive shop know you want to do the 'first part' of an open water course: academic and pool work. This way, you come to the Caribbean with only the really fun part to do-- 4 open water dives (and it's nicer than cold and dark waters of the north!). Referrals can be easily accomplished. As a PADI International Resort, Sea Saba's instructors can complete referrals from all major agencies. Yes, you can be on the same boat as your already certified diving friends. You will need to be sure to have all documentation with you and advise us when making a reservation. Easy!
