Core Gut is a dive site on Saba's Windwardside in the Saba Marine Park. The dramatic dropoff is spectacular both when you plunge to the depths or come up and look to see the surf crashing abovePhotos courtesy Brad Snyder
Core Gut

Mooring Depth: 40 feet (12m) Maximum Depth: 90 feet (28m) Peer through the looking glass while ascending to the mushroom shaped Honeycomb Plate Corals and Sunray Lettuce Corals that create this majestic seascape. A northerly route yields a deeper wall dive with Tiger Groupers and paired Black Jacks as frequent loiterers. A southerly route traverses a steep slope where Queen Angels and Hawksbill Turtles are usually found. Either way, it's always great to look up at the wall with the surf crashing below...at the very end of the dive, be sure to check out the healthy Elkhorn Coral heads just underneath the boat.

The ascent at Core Gut is just another highlight of this Windwardside site in the Saba Marine Park
