Sea Saba has been in operation since 1985 but our equipment is upgraded and regularly maintained by our experienced staff. We are proud to say that in 20 years of operation, we have never missed a day of diving due to a mechanical or technical problem. There is neither a marine supply store nor mechanic to call on the island. Instead, we are self sufficient with an extensive workshop of tools, equipment, spare parts, and, of course, the know how to get the job done. John is a Bauer-certified compressor technician with over 20 years experience. He services most of the compressors in this area of the Caribbean. Our custom made filtration system assures Sea Saba's divers the finest quality air (O2 compatible) and consistent nitrox fills. Ask John for a tour of our workshop facility at the Fort Bay. John is also a factory-certified technician for both Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel engines, the engines in Giant Stride and Sea Dragon, respectively. Having the ability to maintain our own equipment means less down time and more assurance to you that your safety and good time are our priority.
*Only coming to Saba for a few days? Perhaps you will consider not lugging your equipment. Our rental rates are the lowest we've seen. Only $15/day for a full set of equipment or any combination thereof: mask, fins, snorkel, bc, regulator and shortie wetsuit. If you are bringing your own equipment, check out our newest page: Travel Tips for information from packing to tips about the St. Maarten airport and traveling on Winair. Dive computers (air and nitrox) are available for additional $12/day. Why not try before you buy? Saba is a duty-free port and Sea Saba is an authorized Scubapro and Uwatec dealer--so our prices are better than you might think. Thinking about purchasing a new dive computer or wonder what all the hype is about 'split fins'...try before you buy. Digital Cameras--Not a professional but want nice memories of your vacation? Bring home a load of photos you can email to friends or print as keepsakes. Our digital setup is the answer. It's hard to believe such an easy to use system can equip any diver with the tools to produce numerous high quality photos. Renting one of our digital cameras includes the 8 megapixel camera, the housing AND a 1 gig memory card so that you don't have to worry about missing that special shot. When you rent a camera from Sea Saba, you bring home great Saba memories because we provide a souvenir dvd for you that includes the official Saba film, our custom Sea Saba presentation, your images and a number of excellent Saba photos you may not have had the opportunity to get yourself. The system utilizes both an internal flash as well as ambient light producing balanced, quality photographs. A few minutes spent with a Sea Saba crew member and you will be ready to go. Or, take a PADI Underwater Photography course with our photo pro and perfect your methods underwater. Wide angle and macro photos are possible and it even takes great video including audio! The large view finder makes it easy to obtain quality images and footage even for beginners. When you're ready for the next level of improving your images rent our strobe--for our rental camera or your personal camera. This system (complete with tray, strobe arm, focusing light and strobe) fits any point-and-shoot or digital SLR camera. Rental price is just $35/day during your normal dive day. If you'd like to use the camera for land use as well, just add $15 or make your own photo documentary with a 3 day rental for $89. Email Lynn and pre-book guaranteeing availability.
