After many months of old-fashion Saba labor, Saba Conservation Foundation is proud to announce its newest trail: "Historic Village Walking Tour". Recognizing that not all tourists have the time or ability to tackle a more serious hike, this trail was designed as a sampler of what this unique island offers. With 30 minutes and little exertion you can begin this new hike by stepping from the "main street" of Windwardside in to the Saba Trail Shop. Sip a latte or cappuccino while you watch a 1937 film of Saba. The hand carved steps lead you to the rainforest where fruit trees and native palms abound. The short trail takes you to the museum grounds where there is also a small playground for kids. Step back in time to a restored Saban cottage complete with the original hearth, hand made furnishings and even the famous pipe organ that came up the Custom House steps. There is also a gallery which houses Arawak and Carib artifacts dating back to 700 A.D.
